Best of 2008: Year in Review
by TheWaster.com

Every blogger and their mother is releasing their 'Best of' lists for 2008, and to be honest we were planning on saving you the inner outrage and boycott the proceedings, but alas with one glimpse at Rolling Stone's top 50 of 2008 our blood boiled to the level of action. In no particular order we would like to point out a few records that we found to be most enlightening over the past year.
Marc Ford
Old Fashioned Club Booty
A man of two-step blues, and Black Crowes lore, rock n' roll kneels at the reverberations. With his Neptune Blues Club in the hands of the public, Marc Ford talks drugs, coconut teasers, loving Hendrix, and the moment rock n' roll bought his soul.

My Morning Jacket :: 12.31.2008 :: MSG

After the release of Evil Urges, 2008 has been all about My Morning Jacket. The praise carried them all the way to MSG on NYE. With the house packed, MMJ barreled through a 4 hour set with a guest appearance by Nicole Atkins in a set drenched with white suits, off the wall covers, and Jim James' funk strut..

AA Bondy :: 11.19.2008 :: The Mercury Lounge NYC
Honest, pure, and folk's white knight, AA Bondy has taken the stripped down approach of strictly independent artistic bravado, packed it in a van, and is battling the desolate highways as a lone American storyteller. In New York City for two dates, Bondy treated the Mercury Lounge to off the cuff road stories and American melodies.
LEBOWSKI FEST :: 11.15.08 :: Irving Plaza
BUFFALO KILLERS :: 10.27.08 :: Hammerstein

Fishbone :: 12.02.2008 :: J.C. Dobbs :: City of Brotherly Love

There is no better environment to see Fishbone then crammed in the smallest room possible. In the case of J.C. Dobbs in Philly they were a perfect fit. Take a peak at the California dub chaos in a photo shoot that is worth a million words! Rod Snyder reporting....

Manchester Orchestra :: 12.11.2008 :: Otto Bar :: Baltimore, MD

Preparing to release a new LP in 2009, the Atlanta native indie rockers Manchester Orchestra barreled through the Northeast to finish out the year. With the girls fluttering their eye lids TheWaster.com Photographer Michael Kurman captured their stand at the stuffed Otto Bar in Baltimore, Maryland.
